Job Description

Talabat  is recruiting senior data scientists to help create innovative data-centric solutions that will enable product and business decisions. The job involves a mixture of data science and machine learning to create production-grade systems for the organization. An emphasis is put on generative AI and its applications based on LLMs to enhance data, understand the content, and make automated decisions. Additionally, the job entails all aspects of the ML lifecycle, including model creation, deployment, monitoring, and MLOps. It is based in Dubai.

Experience: 5 years of experience across data science, machine learning engineering, and generative AI, including production ML deployment. 

Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, technology, or a related discipline; postgraduate education is an advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement end-to-end machine learning and generative AI solutions in the context of product and business use cases.
  • Utilize data science methods to turn business problems into tractable analytics and machine learning problems.
  • Implement and manage data models, features, and pipelines for training, deploying, and evaluating models.
  • Develop with LLMs, NLP, deep learning, recommender systems, and other state-of-the-art ML frameworks.
  • Follow MLOps principles from model serving and monitoring to engineering workflows.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, technology, or similar domains; postgraduate qualification will be an additional advantage.
  • More than 5 years’ experience in fields such as data science, machine learning engineering, and generative AI; practical knowledge of ML deployment.
  • Knowledge of multiple ML and GenAI platforms such as Scikit-learn, XGBoost, TensorFlow, PyTorch, and Transformers, and fine-tuning of LLMs.
  • Skillful in using SQL and Python and having in-depth knowledge of statistics, experiments, data modeling, and predictions.
  • Good background in software engineering and having knowledge of system design, ML system design, production, and monitoring.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with recommendation engines, NLP, deep learning, pattern recognition, data mining, and product data.
  • Experience in developing and managing data and training pipelines through Airflow.
  • Familiar with BigQuery and Google Cloud Platform.
  • Experience with LLM and NLP-based approaches to data enrichment, smart automation, and content understanding.
  • Experience with online consumer products, experimentation, A/B testing, and conversion, engagement, and retention.
