Job Description

The Systems Administration position at Lockheed Martin involves supporting reliable IT operations in an on-site environment and supporting multi-user computer systems. The job includes tasks such as systems configuration, user account administration, software installation, backup and recovery, trouble shooting, and technical writing. Effective monitoring, fault finding, and corrective maintenance are needed for an intensive concern on system performance. Virtualization skills, such as those gained through use of tools like VMware ESXi and vSphere, play an important role in the technical environment. The job also offers technical support and training to end-users.

Responsibilities

  • Provide systems administration services for normal, emergency, test, and operational support.
  • Track system performance and connect the link to detect problems that may impact service availability.
  • Manage tasks involving the handling of users accounts, profiles, policies, configurations, backups, recovery, and restore.
  • Support maintenance operations at remote sites and perform both planned and corrective maintenance.
  • Handle maintenance operations for the virtualization and storage environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, information security, computer science, computer systems engineering, MIS, or other related field.
  • Experience in systems administration in the field of enterprise computing.
  • Experience in Red Hat and Windows Systems Administration, VMware ESXi, VDI, and virtualization.
  • Understanding of storage solutions such as NAS, SAN, or any other similar systems.
  • Troubleshooting skills along with time management and teamwork skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Technical knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory and security permissions in Windows.
  • Proficiency in Red Hat Linux and Unix operating systems and in Red Hat Identity Management.
  • Knowledge in network interfaces, network addressing, naming services, and computing and networking security.
  • Working experience in VMware Horizon, VMware vSAN, Windows Server, and application servers like JBoss and Tomcat.
  • Knowledge and experience in network troubleshooting and fault isolation.
