Job Description

The Data Center Project Manager at AWS Infrastructure Services is responsible for overseeing construction-related activities within operational data centers, ensuring efficient project execution across electrical, mechanical, and infrastructure systems. The role requires capacity optimization for data centers while improving their resilience and delivering project results that meet organizational objectives.

Main Duties

  • Knowledge to complete construction projects which require either data center equipment upgrades or complete equipment replacements. 
  • Manage project scope, schedule and budget requirements to achieve successful project completion and operational excellence. 
  • Implementation of infrastructure upgrades and operational improvements will help to increase data center operational capacity. 
  • Review electrical mechanical system designs optimizing performance within existing data center environments.
  • Coordinate vendor contractors ensuring high quality project execution and timely completion.

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Mechanical Engineering or related technical field. 
  • Four years of experience in data centers and critical infrastructure environments. 
  • Strong vendor management skills which include managing contractors and suppliers and working with different teams. 
  • Knowledge about data center engineering operations and infrastructure systems and maintenance standards. 
  • Microsoft Office tools which include Excel Word and Outlook to accomplish reporting tasks. 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrate experience in managing construction or infrastructure projects which need technical or engineering expertise. 
  • Possess electrical mechanical journeyman certifications which function as essential credentials for their application. 
  • Operating engineering licenses which include DC II and DC III and equivalent certifications proves advantageous for applicants. 
  • Demonstrates exceptional critical thinking skills which enable them to solve challenging problems under technical and infrastructure conditions. 
  • Ability to work well with different engineering teams and operations teams from various departments.
