Job Description

The Data Center Logistics Technician at Microsoft oversees inventory management, coordinates hardware logistics, and ensures precise asset monitoring throughout data center operations. Main Duties

  • Manage inbound and outbound logistics, including receiving, packaging, shipping, and tracking data center hardware assets.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records across asset management systems and perform regular audits and reconciliations.
  • Coordinate warranty claims and handle Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) processes in compliance with SLAs.
  • Ensure secure handling and destruction of data-bearing devices following company security and compliance policies.
  • Monitor stock levels, resolve discrepancies, and escalate operational issues to maintain smooth supply chain operations.

Essential Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent work experience in supply chain operations or warehouse management or IT systems. 
  • Demonstrate practical experience in three areas which include inventory management and logistics and materials handling. 
  • Tasks without requiring supervision while delivering precise results. 
  • Knowledge of inventory tracking systems and asset lifecycle management processes. 
  • Fulfill all Microsoft Cloud requirements for background checks and security standards. 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Two years of experience working in warehouse operations and supply chain management and IT logistics and data center facilities.
  • Experience with operating equipment that handles heavy loads which includes forklifts and pallet jacks and chassis lifts.
  • Knowledge of enterprise inventory systems and enterprise inventory processes which operate at large scale.
  • Demonstrates operational environments through their ability to solve problems and their capacity to pay attention to minute details.
  • Ability to work effectively in fast-paced, high-volume data center operations.
