Job Description

The Data Center Facility Engineer at AWS is responsible for operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting mission-critical mechanical and electrical systems which support global cloud infrastructure. The primary mission of this position is to achieve continuous operational performance while maintaining safety standards and system availability across AWS data centers. The candidates will work in a fast-paced environment to handle complex systems which include HVAC and UPS and generators and switchgear and cooling infrastructure while they ensure ongoing delivery of cloud services.

Main Duties

  • Maintain safety standards and promote a strong safety culture across all facility operations.
  • Operate and maintain electrical and mechanical systems including HVAC, generators, and UPS equipment.
  • Troubleshoot facility issues and perform root cause analysis for equipment failures efficiently.
  • Monitor system performance through routine inspections and record operational parameters regularly.
  • Supervise maintenance activities and support continuous improvement in data center operations.

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from accredited institution required for eligibility.
  • Preferred qualifications include understanding of HVAC systems electrical theory and control systems which operate in industrial environments.
  • Demonstrate their ability to safely and efficiently perform equipment troubleshooting for both mechanical systems and electrical systems within complex operational environments.
  • Possess extensive knowledge about safety regulations and operational procedures which govern critical infrastructure environments to satisfy compliance requirements.
  • UAE National with family book mandatory requirement as per government eligibility requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in data centers or mission-critical environments that support large-scale infrastructure operations. 
  • Practical experience with facility operations and maintenance work in technical environments that need to maintain high availability of essential systems. 
  • Knowledge about sizable electrical and mechanical systems that international enterprise data centers use. 
  • Exceptional analytical abilities which enable them to solve complex problems that arise during operational engineering tasks. 
  • Perform work duties which require them to work during any shift and face challenges of working night time and week end and holiday periods.
