Job Description

The Critical Environment Technician Intern at Microsoft supports data center operations by assisting in monitoring, maintenance, and troubleshooting of critical infrastructure systems. The position requires operators to maintain safe equipment operations while they operate HVAC systems and electrical systems and mechanical systems, which enables them to gain practical experience with Microsoft Azure environments.

Main Duties

  • Essential operations through their work which includes inspecting, measuring, and documenting their findings at the site. 
  • Oversees essential systems which include HVAC systems and electrical systems and mechanical system equipment. 
  • Assist in maintenance operations using CMMS tools for tracking assets and tasks.
  • Support troubleshooting, incident reporting, and emergency response procedures with supervision.

Essential Qualifications

  • Basic understanding of electrical or mechanical systems and infrastructure operations.
  • The minimum age requirement for all applicants is eighteen years.
  • UAE nationals with valid documents and work authorization must be present at the office.
  • Successfully complete Microsoft cloud background security checks which are mandatory for their position. 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Diploma in Electrical Mechanical Engineering or Facilities Management or an equivalent qualification. 
  • Possess the physical ability to lift objects and stand for extended periods and perform work at elevated locations. 
  • Possesses strong communication skills which enable him to work together with teams that operate in different regional and global locations. 
  • Demonstrate English proficiency through both writing and speaking skills that enable successful communication in professional settings. 
  • Desire to acquire new knowledge while he develops himself and learns to work in unfamiliar technical environments.
