Job Description

The Cloud Data Architect at Etihad Airways has the duty to create and implement complete data solutions which enable the Data Agile Release Train operations. The position develops Azure data platforms which can expand to meet future demands while following established architectural standards and creating solutions which match business objectives and technology plans and enterprise data management standards.

Main Duties

  • Design and develop enterprise data architecture solutions using Azure platforms such as Azure Data Factory, Synapse, and Databricks.
  • Ensure solution designs align with enterprise architecture standards, governance frameworks, and business strategies.
  • Build and manage data platforms, including data lakes, pipelines, and large-scale analytics environments.
  • Collaborate with technology and architecture teams to implement scalable, secure, and cost-efficient data solutions.
  • Provide architectural guidance to product and project teams, promoting reusable components and innovation.

Essential Qualifications

  • Seven years of experience which includes working in solution architecture and complex IT architectural environments. 
  • Demonstrates extensive expertise in creating architectural solutions which support data warehouses and big data systems and business intelligence operations and data science projects.
  • Practical knowledge of Azure Data Factory (ADF) Azure Synapse and Databricks and Cosmos DB.
  • Complete knowledge of data modelling and data lineage and data quality and metadata management and lifecycle management.
  • Architectural certification through TOGAF and SAFe Architect and Open Certified Architect and ISEB Architecture and UML and ArchiMate.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Airline industry experience together with knowledge about PNR and ticketing systems. 
  • Understands enterprise data governance together with data protection measures and privacy protection frameworks. 
  • Worked on business and IT strategy alignment by implementing expandable architectural methods. 
  • Solutions through the application of both agile and waterfall development methods.
