Job Description

The Applied Scientist at Group 42 (G42) will design and develop advanced AI algorithms through their work on deep learning and generative AI model optimization. This role requires the candidate to work with product and research teams in multiple industrial sectors which include finance and healthcare and environmental science to develop AI solutions. The candidates will work on two separate areas which include foundational AI research and development of practical business AI solutions.

Main Duties

  • AI algorithms and models using their design work which they will use to assess and improve their research projects. 
  • Develops AI systems to process multiple types of data including text and audio and visual content which will improve how people interact with machines. 
  • Partners with engineering teams to develop AI algorithms which we will implement through our work across various operations. 
  • Implements new AI systems into our product range while creating client-based proofs-of-concept to evaluate system performance. 
  • Analyzes business processes to find opportunities for AI implementation which they deliver through their technical support during the sales process. 
  • AI research to develop practical applications in finance, healthcare oil and gas industries and environmental science.

Essential Qualifications

  • M.Sc. or Ph.D. degrees in Computer Science Engineering or AI-related fields while having specialized knowledge in Computer Vision and NLP and Speech/Audio processing. 
  • 6 years of experience creating AI algorithms which can operate across different types of media. 
  • Established a track record of research excellence through their published works in peer-reviewed journals and their contributions to R&D work on products. 
  • Extensive knowledge about both AI and ML concepts which includes deep learning and generative AI. 
  • Possess strong collaboration skills and communication abilities which enable them to work efficiently with both research and product teams.

  • Highly curious, inquisitive, and problem-solving oriented mindset.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of emerging AI and ML technologies.
  • Experience in integrating AI models into enterprise-grade solutions.
  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced, ambiguous, and dynamic work environments.
