Job Description

The Innovo Group is  recruiting for the role of Data Engineering and Platform Lead in Dubai, with the objective of creating and managing the Data Engineering and Platform capability within the organization. The job requires the creation of a robust, governed, and reusable information asset that can enable reporting, analytics, decision-making, automation, and AI. This is a combination of a technical as well as managerial role, involving scalable data engineering, platform delivery, and operational standards.

Experience: 8+ years of experience in data engineering, platform delivery, software engineering, or a related field. 

Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, data engineering, software engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities

  • Formulate and implement the data engineering and platform roadmap, taking into account prioritization, dependencies, and capacity planning, together with the IT Portfolio Manager.
  • Design, build, integrate, and manage data pipelines, platforms, and services that are secure, scalable, and reliable.
  • Build reusable data products, models, and capabilities in the areas of analytics, reporting, operations, automation, and artificial intelligence (AI).
  • Establish and define standards related to integration, development, versioning, testing, documentation, release, monitoring, recovery, and support.
  • Manage teams and vendors, as well as performance, reliability, availability, cost, technical debt, incident management, and improvements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Software Engineering, or any relevant field of study, or equivalent work experience.
  • 8+ years of work experience in Data Engineering, Platform Engineering, Software Engineering, or any relevant field of work.
  • Practical experience in provisioning, design, deployment, and management of scalable Azure Data Platforms and data pipelines.
  • Practical experience in data engineering activities including data integration, transformation, modeling, data quality, data lineage, monitoring, security, performance, resilience, and operations.
  • Work experience in implementing best practices for version control, testing, release management, documentation, monitoring, and incident management.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge and experience gained through working with governed data products and reusable data assets using both structured and unstructured data sources.
  • Experience in helping the governed use of document information for analytical, automated, and AI solutions.
  • Experience in leading engineering teams, developing internal knowledge and executing technically on vendor/partner implementations.
  • Solid knowledge about data governance, data quality, data security, data lineage and all data governance needs across the data life cycle.
  • Pragmatic and responsible approach with great communication skills for technical, business and management stakeholders.
