Job Description

Inception42 is hiring a Lead Applied Scientist in Abu Dhabi to lead advanced AI research and develop scalable generative and deep-learning solutions. The role involves shaping research strategy, designing multimodal AI systems, guiding scientists and engineers, advancing innovation, and translating research into practical applications. Strong experience in AI research, product development, leadership, and large-scale model deployment is required. 

Qualification: Ph.D. or M.Sc. in Computer Science

Responsibilities

  • Create and implement research plans for AI that are in line with Inception42’s technology and innovation goals.
  • Design and build generative AI and deep learning models in diverse domains including vision, language, audio, sensors and others.
  • Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary team of scientists and engineers working on achieving ambitious objectives in R&D.
  • Work with cross-functional teams, including product, engineering and business teams, to apply research outcomes to products.
  • Ensure scalability, robustness, efficiency, and effectiveness of models through tests and optimisations.

Requirements

  • Computer Science, Engineering, Artificial Intelligence or closely related fields: Ph.D./M.Sc.
  • 10-12 years of experience in AI research and development, including 3 years of R&D management experience.
  • Extensive experience and skill sets in developing and designing large scale artificial intelligence models and systems.
  • Evidence of research accomplishment via publication, patents, or industry innovation.
  • Strong strategic planning skills, project management and communication, leadership and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Deep technical knowledge of foundation models, generative models, reasoning, and novel AI approaches.
  • Specialized knowledge of machine learning, computer vision, NLP, and multimodal AI.
  • Experience with moving ideas and technologies developed within AI research and prototyping into deployment.
  • Experience building research collaborations with academic and industrial organizations.
  • Creative problem-solving and leadership skills in solving difficult AI challenges for exceptional teams.
