Emirates is recruiting for the Senior Quality Assurance Engineer – SDET position in Dubai. This position will be responsible for ensuring software quality throughout the customer journey through modern testing techniques and programming languages. Some of the duties that come with this job position include designing UI & API automation frameworks, interacting with CI/CD pipelines, designing automation frameworks and test harnesses, and performing end-to-end testing. The other duties that come with this job position include interacting with architects, software engineers, product owners, and quality engineering teams to evaluate risks and quality gates.

Qualification: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in computer science, computational mathematics, computer engineering, software engineering, or any relevant area.

Responsibilities

  • Work together with members of the project, architects, and software engineers for the conversion of functional and non-functional requirements to complete testing.
  • Work with the product owner to identify any risks associated with the product and give feedback on requirements and design at an early stage.
  • Coordinate with the Quality Engineering team for provision of test environments and test data for feature teams.
  • Help software engineers in the creation and maintenance of automated functional tests via continuous integration.
  • Develop and maintain automation frameworks and test harnesses and facilitate compliance with Quality Gate requirements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in computer science, computational mathematics, computer engineering, software engineering, or any relevant area.
  • Experience in quality engineering roles in digital or e-commerce organizations.
  • Experience in the position of a software quality engineering lead or an equivalent position on more than one project.
  • Hands-on experience with the creation of automation frameworks for UI and API testing using any programming language like Java, Python, JavaScript, C, Ruby, or Perl.
  • Experience with automation frameworks or tools such as Selenium, WebDriver Grid, Protractor, Jasmine, Cucumber, Gherkin, JUnit, or TestNG.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience in creating test cases for enterprise middleware, API gateways, event-driven architectures, and ETL processes.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Power Platform and the Microsoft 365 suite for testing purposes.
  • Knowledge of the RPA tool suite of Automation Anywhere and IBM BPM.
  • Hands-on experience with Git-based source code management, CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Azure DevOps), and at least two programming languages.
  • Hands-on experience with VMs and containers both on-premises and in the cloud (Amazon and Google Cloud).
