Job Description

Senior Security Assurance Specialist is a compliance and security job at Amazon Web Services aimed at enhancing security assurance processes for regulated customers in the UAE. The responsibilities include collaborating with the customer, regulator, auditor, and internal teams in providing explanations about security controls, analyzing compliance needs, and making sense out of complex technical environments from an assurance perspective. The job includes extensive knowledge and experience in AWS Compliance, Cloud Security, IT Audit, and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate Amazon’s control environment and develop technical knowledge of security processes and control implementations.
  • Analyze industry regulation needs and describe how security controls meet the requirements set by regulators.
  • Communicate with customers, regulators, and auditors on issues related to control implementations and assurance.
  • Help make improvements in security programs, processes, frameworks, tools, and best practices.
  • Use information security regulations and policies to evaluate the impact on customers and control implementations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Information Security, Computer Science, Risk Management, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or any related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in carrying out or being a part of IT audits/assessments of technically complex cloud-based systems.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience working in highly regulated sectors including finance, healthcare, energy, or telecoms.
  • Business level proficiency in English and Verbal Arabic.
  • Experience in explaining technical security and compliance requirements to internal/external parties.

Preferred Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of experience in big data, DevOps, security, systems administration, software development, or cloud technologies.
  • Certifications from industry-recognized certification programs like CISA, CISM, CISSP, CCSP, or AWS Cloud Practitioner.
  • Knowledge of controls and compliance requirements in the context of cloud environments.
  • Experience collaborating with auditors, regulators, customers, and stakeholders at all levels.
  • Excellent skills in analysis, communication, problem-solving, and program management.
