Job Description

Senior Software Engineer is a technical position at Property Finder focused on developing reliable backend systems supporting a high-traffic property marketplace. Responsibilities

  • Work on backend services that will support the main experience of our property marketplace.
  • Take care of all aspects of development from architecture to deployment.
  • Work on new services in TypeScript while also improving Go-based production services.
  • Create microservices architecture with efficient use of APIs, services, communication, and versioning.
  • Handle all aspects of AWS-related operations, such as observability, incident response, and reliability.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, information technology, or any other relevant field is required.
  • Experience of at least six years in backend development for high-traffic products with consumer technology is required.
  • Experience with TypeScript and Node.js for backend programming and deployment of services.
  • Familiarity with Go with the understanding of backend maintenance and services development.
  • Experience in working on microservices, REST/gRPC, databases, event-driven architecture, observability, and cloud technologies.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Working experience with AWS services such as ECS, EKS, Lambda, SQS, SNS, CloudFront, RDS, and ElastiCache.
  • Working experience with handling relational databases, OpenSearch/Elasticsearch, Redis, indexing, schema, and performance optimization.
  • Working experience with Kafka, asynchronous programming, distributed tracing, structured logging, metrics, SLOs, and incident management.
  • Proficient in TypeScript and Node.js, as well as experienced in Go development of scalable microservices and backend applications.
  • Working experience with digital marketplaces/classifieds where scalability and reliability were the most important factors.
