The Data Center Facility Engineer at Amazon Web Services is responsible for operating and maintaining critical electrical and mechanical infrastructure within AWS data centers. Main Duties
- Maintain highest safety standards and lead initiatives to resolve facility risks.
- Operate and troubleshoot electrical and mechanical systems across data center infrastructure.
- Manage UPS systems, generators, HVAC, transformers, and power distribution equipment.
- Perform root cause analysis for equipment failures and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure continuous uptime through proactive monitoring and operational excellence practices.
- Support facility maintenance activities including preventive and corrective maintenance tasks.
- Collaborate with teams to improve efficiency and reduce operational costs.
Essential Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
- Strong understanding of electrical systems, power distribution, and safety practices.
- Knowledge of HVAC systems and mechanical infrastructure operations.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex facility and equipment-related issues effectively.
- Familiarity with data center operations and maintenance processes.
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in data center engineering or facility operations.
- Experience working with mission-critical infrastructure and high-availability environments.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities in technical environments.
- Ability to work in rotational shifts and handle on-call responsibilities.
