The Director/Data Privacy & Protection-Legal position at e& develops and implements enterprise-wide privacy, data protection, AI governance and intellectual property frameworks. Main Duties

  • Implementation of privacy protection and data security measures which include AI technology and intellectual property rights. 
  • Ensure that all products and services maintain privacy protection standards throughout their entire development and deployment process. 
  • Outdated compliance procedures and develop new methods that show greater efficiency. 
  • Run projects as an independent worker who needs to solve difficult compliance problems without needing any guidance. 
  • Data handling activities follow both UAE Data Protection Law and GDPR and other global law requirements. 
  • Develop AI governance frameworks and ethical AI standards and risk assessment procedures which need to be maintained and improved. 
  • IP policies while managing trademark protection and working with outside legal teams. 
  • Develop compliance methods which will reduce operational impact at the lowest possible cost. 
  • Technology and Product and Risk and Audit and business teams in order to create effective compliance procedures. 
  • Establish monitoring systems which will help you find and control all factors that create privacy problems together with AI dangers. 
  • Activities which respond to data breaches by handling both regulatory needs and all related communications. 
  • Assist senior legal executives with their work on regulatory matters and their development of necessary documents. 
  • Implement training programs for privacy protection and AI technology and intellectual property which will be used throughout the entire organization. 
  • Vendor compliance through examination of their data processing agreements and their evaluation of third-party vendors. 
  • Expertise for new technologies which include AI systems and Internet of Things device implementations.

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Laws degree and has passed the Bar examination. 
  • At least four years of work experience in privacy and data protection law together with experience in AI compliance. 
  • Demonstrates strong capacity to complete work tasks without needing close supervision. 
  • Expertise in developing better compliance processes and managing organizational risks. 
  • Mid-level proficiency in intellectual property law.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Degree or specific certifications which include CIPP/E and CIPM and CIPT and AI governance certifications. 
  • Director-level candidates need to have more than eight years of professional experience. 
  • Experience working in both the telecom industry and the technology sector. 
  • Legal expertise through their work experience at law firms and in-house environments with privacy and AI and IP legal domains. 
  • Demonstrates the ability to analyze information and lead teams while managing relationships with stakeholders.
